California Dreaming | California Photographer | Travel Photography

Back in September I had a Best Friend trip to California! Jenny and I started in San Francisco and then drove down the Pacific Coast Highway. All I can say is, if you ever have the chance to road trip down Highway 1 DO IT! It was worth every sight we saw and every song we sang!

We started out in San Francisco. We went and saw the “Pink Ladies”. Walking around that part of town you see amazing views and lots of cool older houses. Then we went to the capital building. There were so many weddings going on! Being wedding photographers WE WERE IN HEAVEN! We just watched all these couples walk around getting their photos taking. It was an amazing sight to see. Crazy how many people get married there on a Monday!

Also, a really cool place was Pier 39! You can see Alcatraz and so many sleeping sea lions! They are fat and so cute!

The Next day, we went to the Golden Gate Bridge. Seeing that in person, wow, that is all I can say. It was so scary driving over it! I am not a huge fan of bridges. But it was worth definitley worth it regardless of my fear! We had ice cream with another friend of ours that lives out there now in a small town near by. It almost felt like we were not in America anymore and some cute sea side village in Italy!

That is when we started our journey down the coast! Windows down and some good tunes on! Highway 1 has spectacular views! We ended up in Monterey and took a day trip to Caramel-by-the-sea and Big Sur.

We hiked to some random private beach in Big Sur, went wine tasting in Caramel, Saw Pebble Beach (where all the rich and famous live), bar hopped with the locals and eat breakfast on a pier listening to the ocean.

It was the perfect adventure with my favorite human. Here are all the amazing Film Scans I took of our adventure.

Morgan & Kyle | Engagement | South Haven Beach Engagement

When Morgan first messaged me to take her engagement photos I was in awe because her and her Fiance Kyle are gorgeous! Then she asked if I would mind traveling to the beach! Umm Hello never mind that! So, that's what we did! A Day trip out to South Haven, Michigan on the shores of Lake Michigan! This location and this couple couldn't have been more perfect!

If you look closely there is even a Pirate Ship in the background. Okay, maybe not an ACTUAL Pirate Ship, but looks pretty close to one!

Taylor & David | Engagements | June 11, 2017

Taylor was one of my first friends when I moved to Michigan. We worked together at this bar called Bottoms Up. She and David were just starting to hang out. It's crazy to think now four years later they are engaged and getting married next year!!

We drove to Port Huron, Michigan for their engagements! The Yacht Club was the perfect back drop! We promised David we would go swimming after the session if just hung on a little longer! And we kept that promise. Right after we were done taking photos we changed into our suits and jumped right into Lake Huron. IT WAS FREEZING. But a fun story to tell.

Boho Brewing | Styled Shoot | March 11, 2017

One unique element of Michigan is the popularity of the local craft beer industry as well as the rolling countryside. Both of which inspired our boho brewing shoot. Fine art florals and details make this shoot elegant and timeless. The table was dressed with a vintage lace runner, antique silverware, fine art florals, and craft beer bottles from local breweries. Gracefully hand drawn menu and place cards decorate each place setting. The colors for this shoot were inspired by the bright orange and yellow daffodils that can be seen growing in the wild in this area. The goal was to bring together a team of local vendors to create a luxurious boho elopement ceremony that inspires artistic elegance for a bride and groom's special day.

Jocelyn & Dave | Engagements | February 10, 2017

We waited months to do these in the winter but Michigan had such a weird winter that there was never any snow to do them. Finally, we just picked a date to get them done, and it turned out amazing! We all froze to death but they were tough and made it through the session! There was the slightest dusting of snow on the grown that made it look and feel like the winter photos they wanted!

I cannot wait for their wedding in September!

Mostly film with a couple digital photos mixed in!

Lindsey & Josh | Engagements | October 8th, 2016

I had the opportunity of going up north to capture this couple's engagement session! Harbor spring is one my favorite places! I grew up spending every single summer in this lovely little town.

Since I was going up north I wanted to do something different with these photos and I wanted to shoot film. I got the couple to take photos on the beach of Lake Michigan! Now, they risked freezing to death for these photos, but they turned out amazing! They don't even look cold, pretty sure that means I did my job right! The colors the film capture is beyond what I would have imagined!

Enjoy these film scans! Who else wants a beach engagement now?

Lia & Jacob | August 13, 2016

This beautiful Salt Lake City wedding was close to home for me! I went to College with both Jacob and Lia. Jacob played Football and Lia played soccer. I was the athletic departments photographer, so I knew them both on and off the field.

I was honored to also take their wedding photos! It was an amazing wedding, and I got to see lots of old friends.

Seeing Jacob cry at the first site of his wife pulled at my heart strings!

The feeling of Film

As photographers, we strive to learn and grow. Also, to find ourselves and our niche. I started photography doing silly self-portraits with a point and shoot. Then I went on to interning and learning how to use a Nikon D3! I found Photojournalism and it became my passion for a long time and still is, but once I moved to Michigan I found my niche in portraits yet again. I have tried all types of editing! As you can see in all my photos. I have grown into a fine art photographer that wants her images to feel real! And starting with this Styled session I am finally becoming the photographer I want to be. Obviously, I have a lot to learn still and always will keep learning. I love the look of film, and one day want to become a pure film photographer!

JAKE AND LIA | WEDDING PHOTOGRAPHER | SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN

I love going back to Pocatello and being able to shoot gorgeous photos up in mountains! I had the privilege to take these college sweethearts engagements while I was visiting Idaho last week. He played football, she played soccer and the rest is history! I went to college with both of them at Idaho State University and worked as a photographer for the Athletic Department. I love that I am able to share their big day with them and I cannot wait for it!

Bohemian Summer

So my friend Lindsey has become famous on the blog! Once again, her and I went out and did a shoot together! We made our own probs and went to goodwill and target to get outfits to fit the theme Boho. It turned out amazing. I couldn't have asked for better lighting and weather on this one! Also, her outfits are on point!

MEGAN | SENIOR PHOTOGRAPHER | SOUTHEASTERN MICHIGAN

I had the pleasure of taking photos of Megan from Linden High School! She is absolutely gorgeous and I could not get enough of her eyes. I mean OMG!

Megan is a volleyball player and is trying to get a scholarship to college for volleyball! So we incorporated that into her shoot. They were her favorites of course! Take a look.

Meet Lindsey,

She owns a Home Furnishing business called "The Moose Duck". The Moose Duck offers many different products and all can be made just for you! I bought an Alaska state sign to hang over my bed! I also have a couple side tables to decorate my apartment! Her woodworking is amazing and a different kind of style.

We took these photos where all the magic happens! It couldn't have been a more perfect background to really showcase her and her work.

Honestly, If you are in need of any home furnishings please go to her site and take a look! Even if you don't think you need anything, I am sure you will realize there is something you just absolutely need! I "need" new things all the time!

Also, How cute is her little helper!
